PM2.5 monitors, so you can stop guessing what your room smells like

NEA publishes outdoor readings. A home monitor shows you what is happening in your own room, which can be quite different. It is also the easiest way to see whether your purifier is earning its electricity bill.

Consumer sensors are not lab instruments, so use them to spot trends and compare rooms, not to argue with NEA. Our PM2.5 monitor guide explains how to read them.

Air quality monitors FAQ

Are cheap PM2.5 monitors accurate?

They are fine for trends and comparisons, less so for exact numbers. Many cheap sensors drift or read high in humid air, so check how the reading behaves over a few days.

Do I need a monitor if I have a purifier?

Not strictly. If you want to see when the purifier is working hard, or compare rooms, a monitor is a useful add-on.
